Salvia BioElectronics Appoints Former MedTech Investor Jeroen Siemes as Chief Financial Officer
EINDHOVEN, October 12, 2023 – Salvia BioElectronics has appointed Jeroen Siemes as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), adding a seasoned finance and investment expert to the team. Siemes, with a remarkable history in fundraising, financial strategy, and financial management within the MedTech sector, previously spent nearly a decade at BOM Brabant Ventures, where he specialized in catapulting MedTech startups to success.
Reflecting on their collaboration, which began in 2017, CEO Hubert Martens states, "Jeroen Siemes was one of the first to believe in our mission." In 2023, a significant milestone was achieved as Salvia’s groundbreaking paper-thin implant for people with migraine and cluster headache was administered to the first group of patients in Salvia's clinical trials in Belgium and Australia.
As the company finalizes its initial clinical trials, it is gearing up for a new financing round. In previous years, Salvia BioElectronics has already secured over €34 million in funding, and with Siemes now in the role of CFO, the company is well-prepared to secure follow-on investments. These funds will facilitate clinical trials, regulatory approval, and commercialization in Europe and the U.S. in the coming years.
